The MirrorLink 1.1 features a data services layer to provide smartphone applications access to automotive data; improved Wi-Fi performance; application notifications; and support for application certification.  MirrorLink provides in-vehicle mobile device adaptation for an enhanced interactive multi-modal experience using two-way communication between the vehicle’s in-dash display and applications running on the smartphone.

By leveraging the MirrorLink open standard solution, in-car systems such as digital displays, audio systems and steering wheel buttons can seamlessly connect to the driver or passenger’s mobile device. The CCC will focus on developing MirrorLink solutions that allow use of mobile applications in a safe and effective manner throughout the automotive product space by providing guidelines, certification, interoperability testing and branding opportunities for future products.
